A few nights ago the trains didn't sound the same as they rolled by. I worried that the recent heat wave had caused some problems. This 1" crack probably didn't help. The train derailed in back of our house while it was going north at about 40 mph. It kept upright for more than a quarter mile until it hit a switch or signal structure after the intersection. We weren't home, but neighbors said it sounded like a big explosion.
