A vacation is an opportunity to preserve life's slices visually, whether on film, videotape or digital media.
We traveled to the Central Coast midweek, missing the highway hordes that are usually seen on Saturday morning trips.
Beautiful weather followed and stayed throughout our short stay. Add to that --- wonderful people, no car trouble, and plenty to do and see --- and who could ask for more?
Flowers are most congenial friends, asking for little and giving so much. I like what Longfellow said:
Stars of earth, these golden flowers;
emblems of our own great resurrection;
emblems of the bright and better land.
These vestiges of Eden clearly show the chasm stretched between a perfect Creation and an imperfect heart. They preach a righteousness we know nothing of but for Grace.
