Many of us would drive from the east side, down Creston road, across the old iron bridge, angling onto 13th Street, ride over the  Highway 101 overpass, across the tracks with our feet raised, slowly chug up the little hill and look to the right to see all the shiny new and used cars on the Ford lot.

Not many could afford the $57.OO a month for a new truck, though. Not when you made $75-$100 a week and had mouths to feed.
