Wordydave's wife, Barbara, remembers riding with her step-dad, Bud Richmond, for a day, 'just to see what it was like.' He drove delivery truck back in the early 60's with a special flare for speeding. Coming down the hill from the hospital was a real thrill, she says.

This is also where she worked on the 'mangle' (large iron) with an older woman who didn't like her much. They would wrestle with the sheets and larger items in a stand-off tug-of-war. Great fun for a high schooler who obviously wasn't trying to win friends and influence people.
