Okay, all you blue blood Skinnerites from the hinterlands and beyond,
it's time to reflect a little on your roots. In spite of what you might think,
we do have a past that's filled with all the excitement and intrigue you'd
expect in any family that had braved the perils of England, the Atlantic
and then a fledgling 13 colonies in the early 1700's. Unfortunately, these
memoirs are sparsely detailed at this point, for which the author apologizes.
He could, of course, fill in the gaps with adventure and mystery,
but what would be the fun in that? We'll attack this from past to present and see how that works.
This research is preliminary and subject to correction. As
new information is available, this page will be updated
with changes/additions. At this point, ALL of the sons and
daughters of a particular family may not be named.Interestingly, five of the ten generations from the earliest
down to present have "William"
as first names. You'll also see a few families use the
wife or grandmother's maiden name as a son's middle
name, something we rarely do now.
